Performance: Posted eight blocks, 20 assists, 17 kills and 16 aces in two shutout wins.
Season stats: Johnston is averaging about eight kills, 11 assists and about two blocks per match.
Favorite music: “Rap.”
Favorite subject: “Advanced P.E. You don’t have health. Just 11th and 12th graders can take it.” Thomas Dale coach Mike Walker is the teacher.
Best traits: “My jump serve, hitting and setting.”
Best player ever faced: “Will Coleman of Clover Hill. He could block and hit and couldn’t be stopped.”
What you wouldn’t know: Johnston’s nickname is Big Ballin’. It’s even on his license plate. “There’s no explantation.”
